Sunday was awesome. God met with us in a really cool way as we talked about the Holy Spirit and a bunch of us took the opportunity to say Holy Spirit you can be my guide and lead my life. If you missed it you missed a really special Sunday.

Special guest Andrew Benson will be here to talk to us about what the church is, what her mission is, and how we can play our part in it. Andrew is a great guy and you want to take advantage of this opportunity to hear him (or at least to hear somebody other than me : )

After last weeks postponement: Deep Water's first prayer walk of the season will be this Saturday night at 10pm starting at Grand Parade. Let me know if you are coming so we don't leave without you and can let you know any changes due to weather. If you have never been on one of our prayer walks they are awesome and pretty simple - we walk and pray: for our city, our friends, and our church. Come on out.

Deep Water will be doing fundraising activities in June and July to help send kids in need to summer camp. The kids we will be helping out are part of Julie Bennett (from PaxNorth)'s ministry. Each year she works to make sure they get the opportunity to get out of the city and experience a fun, Christian camp environment. Helping to pay their way is a great way for us to impact our city and help those in need.

For the first of our "Send a Kid to Camp" fundraising events, Deep Water will be hosting a bake sale at the Halifax Infirmary on June 12th. Last year this event was quite successful raising almost $500 but I think we can top that this year. The more baked goods we have to sell the more kids from underprivileged areas of Halifax get to go to camp this summer so please dust off the recipe books and get your bake on! We request that all donations be packaged to sell and dropped off no later than June 11th to 34 Limardo Drive, Dartmouth (home of Carolyn Fifield). On Sunday, June 14th, we're going to have an awesome morning in Upstream, followed by a viewing of the Disney/Pixar movie UP. Every kid who comes to Upstream that week gets a free ticket, and another for one parent or guardian per family! This is a great chance to invite your friends with children, your children's friends, or your child-like friends. If you have any questions contact Kelly Thomas.

On Saturday afternoon, Robin and Kery-Ann Ogilvie were blessed with a baby girl, London Elise Ogilvie. She tips the scales at 8 lbs 15 oz, and measures 22 inches. Both baby and mommy are home, happy, and healthy. Thanks to everyone who was praying for them. You should be able to meet the newest member of the Ogilvie (and Deep Water) family in a week or two.
