This is the 100th issue of the Loop!!! It's hard to believe we've been at it this long and super thankful for all God's blessings along the way.

The food drive on Saturday was big success as we collected over 500 kg of food for hungry folks in Halifax. Huge props to Heather Trites and the rest of the team that made this happen.

The Contact was awesome on Sunday, and it was great to just take a bunch of time to worship by singing to God together. If you weren't there to crowd surf Fernando the teddy bear, you have missed what could have been one of the greatest experiences of your life.

By the time you get this, Haiti Team Alpha will likely be en-route to Haiti. We leave ridiculously early on Tuesday morning and get back the following Wednesday morning. Please be praying that it will be a safe, productive, and effective trip. See you when we get back.

We launch a new series called "Schooled". We will be looking at some great confrontations between Jesus and the religious establishment and see how no matter how smart they thought their questions were, he always took 'em to school. This is classic Jesus!

It's finally here. Many of you have been asking for it, and we've been working on it, and now we are ready to go. If you are interested in using this convenient method for giving to God through Deep Water you can pick up a form at the theatre on Sunday, or contact me and I'll email you one to print out. You simply fill it out, attach a void check, and put it in the offering box. While I know many of us will go this route, of course you will still be welcome to use the offering box each week.

We are making plans for our next baptism celebration on our Birthday Sunday, Nov 1st (and it's going to be absolutely of the hook/charts/leash!!! Seriously, be there for it. Crazy party type stuff!). Baptism is the way Jesus taught us to publicly declare that we are his followers. If you are a follower of Jesus and you have never been baptized, this is the perfect time to go for it. If you have questions about Baptism or want to be part of the next round let me know.

It's not too late to sign up to be in a small group this year! Simply email our Small Group ministry leader Josh Wong and let him know you want to be in a small group this year.

The compassionate ministries team is organizing an event called blanket outreach. This event will consist of collecting donations of blankets to be handed out to people who are homeless in Halifax. There are two ways for you, the people of Deep Water, to get involved. First, you can donate. We will be accepting blanket donations during the Sundays of Oct.18th, 25th, and Nov. 1st. Second, you can help distribute the blankets. On the night of Saturday Nov. 7th we will be heading downtown in groups of four, to hand out the blankets to people living on the street in Halifax. Ever wonder what the Bible is all about? Wish you had a better foundational understanding of scripture? New to following Jesus and want to get to know the Bible better? The Bible Story Course is an eight-week study through the story of the Bible that I will be teaching this fall at Deep Water that will help you understand scripture better, see how it all fits together into one complete story, and what that stories teaches us.
