February 6, 2008

What cool day yesterday was! It was great to see a bunch of folks getting involved in serving at Deep Water who haven't done so previously and it's just beginning. Over the next month or so there will be several more of you who will be having you "first shift" so to speak. If you signed up and haven't checked out the new schedule yet you can do so here.

And to top it all off the Patriots lost. I'm not sure how to feel about this. I have connections to New England and I wanted to see them make history so I was cheering for them. However I love to see the underdog win and I love to give people a hard time (Pepper) when their team loses. I guess it was ultimately a win win for me.

Feed Nova Scotia

On Saturday we will be sorting reclaimed product that has been damaged either at the store or on the truck while in transport. The Feed NS staff person, John, will be there to meet the group and take us through a 45 minute training session to sort the good from the bad. The warehouse is "heated" depending on how cold the day is so dress in layers and in something you won't get upset about getting dirty!

11am. Feed Nova Scotia Warehouse. 25 Fielding Avenue, Unit 25. Be there. Bring friends.

Baby Shower

Jennifer and Matt vanGennip are hosting a baby shower of Troy and Ceri Fletcher in honor of the arrival of their twin boys Caden and Jax. It's a family potluck (as is guys and kids and invited) and it will be next Sunday (Feb 10) at 5pm at the vanGennips home @ 197 States Lane in Beechville. Practical gifts like diapers (newborn), wipes, and formula (Nestlie Good Start) are especially appreciated because 2 babies means twice as much feeding which means twice as many poopies.

Next Week

We continue on in our series through the book of Romans, there will be props and I'll make fun of the New England Patriots. If you are reading ahead you will want to be up to Romans 3:20.

And now you're in the loop.
