As you read this I am in Indiana telling a bunch of Teenagers about Jesus. I'm not sure how it's going or if I'm having a good time because I actually wrote this last week because I knew I would be away this week. Let's assume it's going awesome but either way please pray for me, you of all people should know that I need it. The weather here is too hot and humid and I'm not really enjoying that (trust me, I've been there before) but the kids are awesome (benefit of the doubt), the leaders of the camp are great (I already know some of them), and the food is pretty good by camp standards (maybe if I believe it hard enough...) One thing is for sure I'm looking forward to getting home to see my family and you and to spending some time together Sunday morning because...
This Week
My dad is gong our special guest. Ever look at me and say "who raised that kid?" Well here is your chance to come find out. You will get to listen in as Dad and I talk about his life and look back over some of the changes he has experienced. With a little luck I'll convince him to tell some good stories as well. It's going to be a great Father's Day with a message that's relevant to everyone, especially those who don't have their own families yet.
Camp Fundraising Event!
On June 27 Deep Water will be having a bake sale at the VG Hospital to raise money for Julie Bennett's ministry. Every year Julie raises funds to provide for kids in public housing areas of Halifax to have an opportunity to go to Truth for Youth Camp. If you are willing to bake for the sale or are able to spend a few hours at the table on the day of the sale, please contact Carolyn Fifield. This is a good opportunity to let your friends/coworkers know of Deep Water's fundraising efforts; they may be interested in helping!
And now you're in the loop.
