WOW!!! Sunday was one of the greatest days in the history of Deep Water! We started our new series "Stuffed", we had the biggest crowd in our history, and we launched luvHAITI! Incredible. I can't tell you how excited I am for our involvement in Haiti and how cool it is to see how excited so many of you are getting too. A few notes from Sunday:
Compassion Kids
A bunch of you sponsored kids on Sunday - awesome. If you picked up a child pack but didn't give me the small tear off portion of the form, you need to let me know so we can track where the packs are and so they don't get lost. We will have the child packs there again this week so come prepared to sponsor.
luvHAITI Video
It only took a few hours for this thing to go viral on Facebook. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, you can do that here and then send it to all of your friends. Exciting times at Deep Water.
Mission Trip Info
If you want to be kept informed about future missions trips to Haiti and didn't get a chance to sign up yesterday just let me know. This is not a commitment to go but a chance for those who are interested in going to stay on the inside track about future trips.
Name that Bear
Sunday I introduced you to our as of yet unnamed teddy-bear mascot. Here's your chance to become a minor local celebrity by giving him a name. You can email your submissions to me, and we will select the winning name and make a big deal about it. Just think how this will look on your resume!!!
luvHALI - Food Drive for FEED NOVA SCOTIA
On Saturday, October 3rd, Deep Water will be having a food drive and you have a chance to help with this event in two ways:
- Flyer Distribution: Volunteers are needed to distribute promotional flyers for the food drive on Saturday, September 26. We will be meeting at Rockingham Ridge Pharmasave (at 30 Farnham Gate Road) at 3:00 p.m. and heading out to deliver flyers in the selected community until roughly 5:00 p.m.
- Food Collection: Help is also needed with collecting food donations on Saturday, October 3rd. Volunteers will meet at Rockingham Ridge Pharmasave (at 30 Farnham Gate Road) at 8:30 a.m. and canvass the selected community for food donations until approximately 11:30 a.m.
This is a great chance to make a difference in our city! Please contact Heather (6 Langbrae Drive, Apt 312)if you are planning on helping with this event or have any questions.
Bring friends! These are great opportunities to introduce your friends to what Deep Water is all about.
