Very full and very fun week last week: The new Baptistry is now on site at the theatre (stay tuned for details about our next Baptism party), the prayer tent is here and ready to go, the fun fair was a huge success (thanks to Heather and Adam for an amazing job, we raised over $500) and Sunday morning was really cool as we spent more time singing together and I delivered my shortest message ever (18:46 to be precise), and to top it all off we had great crowd of people out. Great week.
This Week
We look at another interesting (and in this case somewhat obscure) story from the Old Testament to see what it has to teach us about the kinds of people God likes to use.
Prayer Tent
Prayer Tent starts this week. The idea is simple. We set up a tent in Grande Parade and offer to pray with people about whatever is going on in their life as a way of showing the Christ's love, inviting Him to be at work in their life, and building relationships. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry let me know. We will have a training meeting this Saturday night at 9 pm at the Deep Water offices on Barrington and then head over to Grande Parade at 10 pm. You have to come to the training in order to help with the tent and you have to let me know you are coming to the training in order to get into the building because the front door will be locked. Whether you are coming or not please pray hard that God will use this ministry to reveal Himself to people in Halifax.
Church at the Park
On Sunday August 2nd we are going unplugged and out doors for a worship gathering at Point Pleasant Park. We will meet at the Martello tower at the usual time (10:30am) and you can feel free to bring a lunch and a frisbee as many of us will be sticking around after to just hang out and enjoy the beauty of creation and each others company. Should weather become an issue we will reschedule for another week and be at the theatre as usual.
And now you're in the loop.
