The inclement weather early in the day this Sunday certainly didn’t keep a great crowd, including several first time visitors, from coming out and enjoying a good time together on Sunday. We talked about community and what small groups actually do and ate doughnuts. If you missed it head over to the web site and check out the podcast – it's just like being there except you are alone and there are no doughnuts.
Pool Party
Deep Water is holding it's first pool party on Wednesday night Jan 23 from 7-9pm at Dooley's 3129 Kempt Road in Halifax. Although we will definitely shoot some pool (come beat me – I promise it's pretty easy) the main goal of this evening is to give those folks who are newer to the church a chance to learn a little more about Deep Water, where we came from, and what we are all about. It’s also just a great chance to get to know each other and have some fun. We strongly encourage any one who has started coming in the last several months to come on out. If you have children and will need to get a sitter for the evening we will throw in $10 toward that because we really want you to be able to make it. There will also be a chance to get involved at Deep Water by volunteering to help out with... well...lots of stuff, come on out for more details. If you are coming please RSVP by Wednesday at noon. If you don't think you can come but something changes at the last minute and you can come anyway – bottom line – we want as many people who are new to Deep Water as possible to be a part of this event. See you there!
Feed Nova Scotia Event - Now Feb 9!
Due to a scheduling conflict we've changed the date we're going to go to the Feed Nova Scotia warehouse from Feb. 2 to Feb. 9. The time (11am to 3pm) and location (25 Fielding Ave, Unit 25) all remain the same.
This is a great opportunity to reach out to your friends and your one degree. Let Bryan know if you can make it.
Thanks and sorry for the confusion.
Please Pray
- For the launch of small groups as we get leaders and host homes in place and prepare to begin meeting in February
- That God will continue to send new folks our way, especially those who don't yet have a relationship with Him and that we will continue to be faithful to tell the story and invite people out
- That God will provide us with a worship leader
- That God will provide us with some office space downtown
- Thank God for the ways he is using Deep Water to help people as they follow Jesus
Next Week
Next week we finish off our series on community and you will have an opportunity to join a small group. Make sure you come on out and get connected. It’s also going to be a special day as our District Superintendent, David LeRoy will also be visiting with us. (No idea what a district is or why it needs to be superintended or what any of this means) – come on out Wednesday to the Pool Party.
And now you're in the loop.
