June 22, 2009

Sunday was awesome, I had a blast back in the old worship leading saddle for a week and Jen the Intern did an amazing job bringing the message. If you weren't able to be there you should check out the podcast.

This week there is a missions team in town from the youth group of the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church in northern Maine. If you think of it be praying for them this week as they spend their time showing Jesus' love to our city. They will be working with several different ministries and organizations including our good friends over at Pax North. These are some great teens who have been praying for Deep Water all year and are looking forward to hanging out with us this Sunday. When you see them make sure to say hi and thank them for all they have been doing for Deep Water and Halifax.

This Week

We start a brand spankin new series that I have been getting excited about for weeks! It's called "Scary Stories: Adventures in following a dangerous God". We are going to be looking at some of the coolest stories in the Bible and seeing what they have to tell us about the kinds of people God uses to accomplish His mission in this world. It's gonna be cool.

Prayer Walk

Our next prayer walk will be this Saturday night (June 27), rain or... um... just dark (not much chance of "shine" at night) starting at Grande Parade at 10 pm. This is another great chance to gather together to pray for our friends, our church, and our city.

Baptisms at the Theatre

We received final permission this week to do all future baptisms right in the theatre! Crazy! Feel free to thank God for theatre management that is so good to us and so accommodating. We still have some gear to put in place but that's the easy part. Be on the lookout for our next baptism party right at the theatre early in the fall. If you are interested in being baptized then let me know.

And now you're in the loop.
