On Sunday I challenged you to consider joining a ministry team here at Deep Water, and boy did you ever! We had tons of folks checking out different ministries and signing up to get involved. That's just awesome! You can't win unless you play. By the way - it was another record crowd on Sunday. Who are you going to invite to come with you this week?

This week's issue of the Loop is jam packed with informational goodness we have never sent out before, so make sure you take the time to read it all. I'd hate to see you miss out on any of this great stuff like Plug Me In or The Bible Story Course.

"Stuffed" week 4 is all about community. We will look at the idea that Jesus wants us to follow Him in groups, and we will talk about how we encourage that at Deep Water through small groups. Speaking of this Sunday...

New to Deep Water and want to more about who we are, where we came from, what we are all about, and how you can get involved? Plug Me In is the event for you. It's your chance to hear answers to all of the above, ask any other questions you might have, and get to know Deep Water and those who serve her as leaders better. It will take place this Sunday after the worship gathering at Minstrels Gastropub (5472 Spring Garden Rd, just down from the street from the theatre) starting at 12:30. Light appetizers will be provided.

We are making plans for our next baptism. Baptism is the way Jesus taught us to publicly declare that we are his followers. If you are a follower of Jesus and you have never been baptized, this is the perfect time to go for it. If you have questions about Baptism or want to be part of the next round let me know.

Next Sunday you will have one last opportunity to sponsor a Compassion child at Deep Water before we need to send the child packs back. If you have been thinking about it, now is the time to act. Bring your payment info and this week, pick a kid, and change their life.

Here's another chance for you to get involved in Haiti. Carl & Maya Gilles who were with us on September 13th have a new guesthouse in Haiti. This will be used to host missions teams (like the ones we will be sending) while they are there. There are some supplies they need to get the place up and running and we are planning to take a bunch with us, but we need your help. You can purchase anything off the list below and bring it in this Sunday or next.

On Saturday, October 3rd, Deep Water will be having a food drive and you have a chance to help with this event in two ways:

1. Flyer Distribution: Volunteers are needed to distribute promotional flyers for the food drive on Saturday, September 26. We will be meeting at Rockingham Ridge Pharmasave (at 30 Farnham Gate Road) at 3:00 p.m. and heading out to deliver flyers in the selected community until roughly 5:00 p.m.
2. Food Collection: Help is also needed with collecting food donations on Saturday, October 3rd. Volunteers will meet at Rockingham Ridge Pharmasave (at 30 Farnham Gate Road) at 8:30 a.m. and canvass the selected community for food donations until approximately 11:30 a.m.

Ever wonder what the Bible is all about? Wish you had a better foundational understanding of scripture? New to following Jesus and want to get to know the Bible better? The Bible Story Course is an eight-week study through the story of the Bible that I will be teaching this fall at Deep Water that will help you understand scripture better, see how it all fits together into one complete story, and what that stories teaches us.
