Prayer Walks are Back

Deep Water's first prayer walk of the season will be this Saturday night at 10 pm starting at Grand Parade. Let me know if you are coming so we don't leave without you and can let you know any changes due to weather. If you have never been on one of our prayer walks we walk and pray. For our city, our friends, and our church. Come on out.

Deep Water will be doing fundraising activities in June and July to help send kids in need to summer camp. The kids we will be helping out are part of Julie Bennett (from PaxNorth)'s ministry. Each year she works to make sure they get the opportunity to get out of the city and experience a fun, Christian camp environment. Helping to pay their way is a great way for us to impact our city and help those in need.

For the first of our "Send a Kid to Camp" fundraising events, Deep Water will be hosting a bake sale at the Halifax Infirmary on June 12th. Last year this event was quite successful raising almost $500 but I think we can top that this year. The more baked goods we have to sell the more kids from underprivileged areas of Halifax get to go to camp this summer so please dust off the recipe books and get your bake on! We request that all donations be packaged to sell and dropped off no later than June 11th to 34 Limardo Drive, Dartmouth (home of Carolyn Fifield). On Sunday, June 14th, we're going to have an awesome morning in Upstream, followed by a viewing of the Disney/Pixar movie UP. Every kid who comes to Upstream that week gets a free ticket, and another for one parent or guardian per family! This is a great chance to invite your friends with children, your children's friends, or your child-like friends. If you have any questions contact Kelly Thomas.

On Saturday afternoon Brian and Sarah Addie welcomed a big (8lbs +) baby boy into the world. As of Sunday afternoon they hadn't finalized a name yet but are getting close. He is generally healthy but is having some respiratory problems that may prolong his hospital stay. Pray for him today and congratulate Brain and Sarah next time you see them.

We often say at Deep Water that only Jesus and our treasurer Greg know what you give but in the case of Offering Envelope #30 not even Greg knows because you haven't told him your are. If you are Offering Envelop #30 please let me know (I'll pass your name and address on to Greg) ASAP or we will be unable to receipt you for your contributions. Thanks.
