Greetings Team,
Welcome to our weekly (although barely) email update. We gathered for another meaningful time of prayer of Wednesday night. Thanks again to Bryan Wiens for hosting this event and to the Landry's for opening their home for childcare. Speaking of prayer there are a couple specific items we need to be in prayer about at this time.
- Worship Gathering Venue - Neptune is off the table at this time. Long story short its not available enough of the time to make it a wise choice for us. I really believe this is God closing a door for us and so I feel good about it. However we do need to figure out where to pursue next. Please pray that God would give us wisdom and creativity to know where we should meet and that he would open up the right doors. In addition to praying there is a really practical way you can help in this process. We want to answer these questions with the people we are trying to connect with in mind and so I would ask you to ask your friends and co-workers who don't know Christ a question along these lines. "If you were going t attend a new church would you prefer it was A.) In a church building, B.) a non-church facility like a theatre, hall, or club or C.) it doesn't matter. Ask some people and send me the answers. It would be a massive help as we make the decision about where next.
- Fundraising - We are blessed to have alot of our funding in place but we still need several thousand more. Pray that the Lord would provide and specifically that he would open peoples heart to respond as I make a presentation at Beulah Camp July 6-14. There is immense potential to raise support there. Ask that the Lord would bless my efforts and call people to get behind Deep Water financially.
In other news - I had coffee yesterday with Brad Somers. He is a guy who is leading a new church plant in the North end around Gottegen Street. Cool guy, cool church, looking forward to partnering with them in some cool ways, especially with some possible compassionate ministries. It's awesome to see the ways God is moving in our city.
