This is a series of 4 courses offered regularly at Deep Water that are designed to help you lay a great foundation for your life as a follower of Jesus. Whether you are new to following Jesus or need to brush up on some core ideas, Foundations Courses are right for you.

BIBLE STORY

Overview: We trace the one central story of scripture from Genesis to Revelation. This course will give you a solid foundation in the Bible and will help you to understand where different stories and characters fit into the larger plot of God’s work in history. You will also receive a grounding in 12 key areas of theology.

Structure: 7 weekly 2 hour class sessions with significant reading homework each week.

GROWTH HABITS

Overview: This course will equip you with the tools you need to take responsibility for your own spiritual health and growth. We explore prayer, scripture reading and study, the communal disciplines of worship, giving, community, and service, the discipline of simplicity, and the sacraments.

Structure: 6 weekly 2 hour class sessions including several labs and practical exercises both during class and during the week.

FIT FOR MINISTRY

Overview: This course leads you through a journey of discovery about how God has shaped you for ministry. We look at how our calling, spiritual gifts, natural talents, personality, and life experiences come together to help us understand our fit for ministry.

Structure: 1 day long intensive seminar with an action plan for you to follow though on in the coming weeks. There is modest fee to cover cost of materials.

EPIC LEADESHIP

Overview: This course is designed for those who are ready to develop the skills and shoulder the responsibility necessary to lead others. In this Experiential, Participatory, Image-rich, and Connected experience, we will study 39 biblically-informed foundational leadership principles.

Structure: 6-7 weekly 2 hour sessions with opportunities for further exercises and reflection on your own time.
